Message from Sensei Patrick Kundo Eastman

On June 1 this year at a Zen Sesshin held at the Ladywell Retreat Centre in Godalming it gave me immense pleasure to pass Dharma Transmission to Marcus Averbeck as my first Dharma Successor and authorised teacher.  I gave him the Dharma name, Hozan meaning Dharma Mountain.  Hozan Sensei will now be the primary teacher of our Canterbury group and serve generally as an assistant teacher in the Wild Goose Zen Sangha.  This will be the beginning of establishing the continuity of the work of the Wild Goose Zen Sangha which was formally established when Roshi Robert Kennedy gave me Dharma Transmission on June 1, 2009.  Photographs of the wonderful ceremony of Hozan’s Transmission can be seen in the photographs that follow in the page below.
